Movie theaters go upscale

Movie theaters are going upscale in an attempt to lure older customers back to the multiplex. Lush interiors and gourmet concessions are just a few of the fancy features being tried out.
"There's a market out there that's looking for something more than the usual movie going experience," explained Patrick Corcoran of the National Association of Theater Owners. "Someone that expects a little more service, more amenities".
The deluxe treatment will cost you two to three dollars more at the Center City Theater in White Plains, New York. The upcharge allows you to select and reserve your specific seat using a touch-screen at the ticket counter.
You can also forego the concession stand line. A waiter will take your order in the theater, and bring your food directly to your seat.
A restaurant and bar are also available inside the theater complex.
National Amusements is developing several similar theaters across the country.
