The face of NBC's "Late Night" is changing, but the new face is a familiar one. Next year Jimmy Fallon will take over as host of "Late Night". NBC announced Fallon will take over "Late Night" in 2009 when Conan O'Brien moves on to host "The Tonight Show". Fallon spent eight years as a cast member on "Saturday Night Live". Now, after a couple of years away, he's back at NBC.
The Fallon news came on a day when NBC shared with potential advertisers its plans for the coming season, both on air and online, including the strike-delayed return of "Heroes". "I think the strike was a very difficult thing for a lot of people. The other effect of it was, it gave a surge of creativity to our writers, because our scripts are fantastic," said "Heroes" star Ali Larter.
Before the new season can start, the current one has to wrap up - including Thursday's season finale of "The Office".
