So you think you’re tough? But are you tough and strong enough to take on the gladiators from NBC’s American Gladiators show? A few hundred hopefuls showed their stuff Saturday during show try outs in Boulder.
Like any contest, waiting is the hardest part and hundreds had to wait in line to try out.
One man said, "I’ve been waiting for this moment since I was about 12."
Any size or strength, man or woman, they were all pushing to make the show and ultimately a grand prize of $100,000. "It would mean everything to me, to be able to see my kids succeed, go to college," said contestant Mike Forsythe of Colorado Springs, who said he is currently working two jobs to support his premature triplets.
Producers said they were looking for that standout quality. "We want to know why they're here and what makes them different from everybody else," said Senior Casting Producer Louis Caric. "Energy is very, very important."
Caric said the number one priority was weeding out the weak from the strongest.
