Colorado Springs Utilities is asking the community to get involved in their effort to "go green".
Tuesday night, the first in a series of community discussions was held at the Pikes Peak Library’s Penrose Reading Room. Colorado Springs Utilities is asking the community for feedback on how to strengthen its environmental stewardship heading into the future.
The discussions will focus on saving money, helping the environment, the economy and energy independence. Also covered are areas from electricity, water and wastewater to gas in homes or businesses.
Sherri Newell, the Chief Public Affairs Officer for Colorado Springs Utilities, says the best ideas will actually get implemented. "We're so excited to have customer owners of Colorado Springs help us create a vision and a strategy for how we become an even more credible and responsible leadership voice in our community."
The meetings will go through the spring and summer months.
