Manta ray takes flight
Bea Karnes
Have you ever owned a fish that got too big for its aquarium? That's hard enough, but imagine the challenges when your tank holds three million gallons of water and the fish is a manta ray who weighs more than a thousand pounds. His name, appropriately--Zeus.
The Atlantis Resort in the Bahamas decided that the best choice for Zeus was to release him into the wild. A helicopter usually equipped with a water bucket for firefighting was attached with a net, and Zeus went for a two minute ride before he was gingerly eased into the ocean.
