Drivers training school goes green

A California driving school has decided to use a fleet of cars that send an environmental message to students. Classes at "Drivers Ed Direct" in Chatsworth are conducted in hybrid vehicles.
Eric Creditor started Drivers Ed Direct three years ago and decided to use a fleet of hybrid Toyota Prius and Ford Escapes for his students and instructors. "We do it because we wanted to teach a social message while at the same time teaching driver's safety," Creditor explained.
Former student Rebecca Peters got a Prius after getting her license. "I was raised with environmental awareness and the idea of preserving the environment," she said.
Another benefit of an all-hybrid fleet is the fuel cost. The school hasn't had to raise its prices for drivers training despite gas approaching $4 a gallon.
