The Pierce family is enjoying their last few days of summer break by splashing in the pool.
"We made it deep enough where they can dive in - but shallow enough for playtime," said homeowner Vicky Pierce.
And they don't have to worry too much about how it affects their power bill.
"We were advised to get the energy efficient savings system - which saves us about $100 a month on our electricity bill," explained Pierce.
That's because the cleaning and filtering system runs on a relatively new concept in pool design.
"This pump can turn over the entire water in about three hours,” said Hobert Pools employee Jason Hardy. Compared to about four to five hours for traditional systems.
"After the three hours you don't have to run the pump as much anymore. You are just keeping it circulating verses trying to turn over the water," explained Hardy.
For some homeowners, the average saving is about $1,300 a year.
