US ship spills fuel off Peru

A U.S. flagged ship spilled 1500 gallons of diesel fuel along Peru's coast when the ship's fuel tank was pierced . The vessel, Cape Knox, was trying to anchor when the accident happened.
The spill is threatening a national reserve, home to sea lions and dolphins. Workers have contained the spill and have removed 60 percent of the fuel from the water.
One sea lion was reportedly died following exposure to the oil.
