Frontier Airlines ends service to five cities

Frontier Airlines and Republic Airways have ended a code-sharing agreement, which means Frontier will end service to five cities. Service will end by June 1 to Sioux City, Iowa; Jacksonville, Florida; Little Rock, Arkansas; Memphis, Tennessee and Tulsa,
Oklahoma. The carrier is also canceling plans to start service to Missoula, Montana.
Frontier began service to Colorado Springs just last week. A plan to build a maintenance facility here is on hold.
Frontier will gradually eliminate 12 Republic aircraft from its operations by mid-June, and says it will reallocate some aircraft to serve more markets with the potential for long-term profitability.
Frontier is reorganizing under Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection. Republic says it will file a $260 million damage claim due to the early termination of the Frontier deal, but says a bankruptcy court will decide how much it can recover.
