A gunshot rang out on a US Airways flight from Denver to Charlotte, North Carolina over the weekend. No injuries are reported.
The gun was carried by a pilot on the flight and went off accidentally. The jet has been taken out of service for an inspection. There were 129 people aboard the flight at the time of Saturday's incident.
As if that weren't enough, in a separate incident, US Airways says a small part of a jetliner's wing dislodged and hit a passenger window as it flew over Maryland. The airline says no injuries were reported aboard the Boeing 757 airliner traveling Saturday from Orlando to Philadelphia with 174 passengers and six crew members aboard. The plane landed safely in Philadelphia.
The airline has taken the plane out of service and is investigating.
