The El Paso County judicial complex will be closed the last Friday of every month from Mar. 28 - Dec. 31. It will be open for 40 hours during the weeks of the closures. Emergency matters, including temporary protection orders, DHS placements, and arrest and search warrants, will be handled at 105 E. Vermijo Ave.
In 2008, most county offices will be open four days a week -- Monday through Thursday -- and closed on Fridays.
Additionally, the county passed a resolution to form a citizen budget oversight commitee. The 17-member committee will be made up of people from different neighborhoods with varying backgrounds. They say at least 75% of the commitee will be people who have not worked for the county in the past. They will advise commissioners on how to handle the 10.9 million dollar revenue shortfall.
