Proposed lane reductions and roundabout intersections in downtown Colorado Springs have been voted down.

The idea promoted by planners at Colorado College was to reduce a nearly twenty block stretch of Cascade Avenue to one lane in each direction and put in several roundabouts in the area of Colorado College. CC leaders were pushing it to enhance the campus and improve safety.

Neighbors in the Old North End of Colorado Springs opposed the play. They believe the plan would simply push traffic and safety issues into their neighborhoods near the school.
