A day of hiking up Cheyenne Canyon ended at the hospital for a little girl.  Two high angle rescue squads with the Colorado Springs fire department had to use climbing gear to get the seven year old down from Helen Hunt Falls.

She was visiting with her family from Nebraska. The little girl slid down about 20 feet of the falls, and then went another 20 feet off a steeper drop on Thursday evening.

Even though she was conscious, and speaking with firefighters, they say her condition was critical.
