Legal wrangling over protest plans in Denver

A judge has rejected a request to make Denver list how many police officers would be needed to staff potential routes for protest marches around the Democratic National Convention.
Groups planning protests were seeking the information in their lawsuit challenging a designated demonstration zone and route for marches during the convention. The convention is August 25th to 28th at the Pepsi Center and Invesco Field at Mile High.
The groups say the zone and route will not be within earshot or view of convention delegates.
U.S. Magistrate Judge Kathleen Tafoya yesterday rejected the request for the police staffing information as irrelevant to the lawsuit.
Arguments on the lawsuit challenging plans for protesters are set to be heard July 29.
