The man on track to become Boulder County's next district attorney says he'll treat the JonBenet Ramsey case like any other.
Mary Lacy, the second prosecutor to handle the 12-year-old murder case, must step down in January because of term limits.
Stan Garnett, a Democrat, is the only candidate running to replace her from either party. He's a former Denver deputy district attorney who now specializes in commercial civil cases.
The case took a significant step forward last week when Lacy announced that male DNA found on JonBenet's clothes almost certainly came from her killer, and that the killer was an outsider.
Authorities say the DNA doesn't match any profiles in state or national databases. But both databases are growing and investigators say a match - and a suspect - may be found one day.
