Red Cross dollar dilemma

The American Red Cross is tapped financially due to all recent natural disasters across the county. National leaders of the aid group are currently pursuing loans to keep helping flood victims in the Midwest. It raises questions over what it means financially for local Red Cross chapters.
Red Cross funding nationally verses locally is different. Not all accounts are shared. While local chapters encourage donations to help the national situation, they also remind that you can specify some of the money stay with your home chapter. Jennifer Mariano with the American Red Cross Pikes Peak Chapter says, “So that when we have something such as a Castle West or an Ordway fire or a single family house fire or a tornado in Limon, that we're able to respond here locally.”
Currently Red Cross volunteers from Southern Colorado are in Wisconsin, Iowa and California aiding victims of disasters.
