An arrest affidavit reveals more about the deadly domestic violence situation in Canon City where a woman is accused of shooting and killing her husband Monday night. Robin Gall waived her right to official advisement of her rights in a Fremont County Court, but remains in custody on a 50-thousand dollar bond.
Monday night police were dispatched to a domestic disturbance call of shots fired at this house on the 900 block of Kentucky in CanonCity. An arrest affidavit shows when police arrived, they found a woman and her three daughters crying on the doorstep. Sergeant Robert Dodd, the lead investigator, says "A husband and wife obviously got into an altercation and ended with the male party getting shot."
The affidavit says the husband, 40 year old Brent Gall, kicked Robin, who then kicked back, scratched and bit him. She then grabbed a 45 caliber pistol and shot Brent in the chest. He was pronounced dead at the scene. 38 year old robin gall was arrested. Dodd says she faces second degree murder. But the investigation is still ongoing. "Cause we want to be able to provide as much information, as complete of facts as possible, to the district attorney's office. Because ultimately it's their decision as far as the charging process."
Those who knew the couple say they are shocked. Jeffrey Mintz is the owner of griffin sports bar and grill where robin worked. "Everyone's just baffled by it. She's just the sweetest nicest person, and I can't imagine what had to have been done to drive her to that point."
He says Robin was a kind person who loved to crochet. Brent played in a band called Side Project. But the two had what could be described as a tumultuous relationship. Mintz says "Robin is an angel. I've personally seen Brent get mouthy, should I say, when he's had too much to drink."
Brent gall worked at the federal prison in Florence. The Galls have three children who are staying with relatives. They were unharmed. Robin Gall's next court appearance is scheduled for next week.
