The National Space Symposium hosts the latest and greatest in technology from around the world. But a big focus this year is on educating the next generation of inventors and scientists.
Raytheon introduced a new interactive online program called “Math Moves U" to a group of student on a tour of the symposium. A course director of chemistry at the Air Force Academy High School, Erich Hoffmann, was chosen to give a mini presentation. He showed these middle school students from PaulineMemorialCatholicSchool how science can be found in nearly anything; even a bouncy ball.
Hoffmann says his goal is to get kids excited about math and science. "If I got a couple of students interested in math and science, if they work for Raytheon, or whoever... great, I did my job. I trained my replacement."
