The world's largest wind-turbine manufacturer is starting a $37 million expansion of its blade production plant about 60 miles north of Denver. Vestas Wind Systems has hired Mortenson Construction of Denver to oversee the project to add 175,000 square feet to the plant.
Vestas officially opened the Windsor plant last month with the goal of producing blades for 600 turbines a year. It employs about 200 workers now and expects to increase that to
650 at full production.
