Last beam goes up at UCCS’ largest building

Tradition marked a landmark day on the campus of the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs. A “topping off” ceremony was held at the new science and engineering building that is under construction.
A United States flag is now on top of the skeleton of steel beams. It was placed there as part of the good luck topping ceremony that happens when the last beam is put in place.
The building is a major project on campus started in 2006. There’s another year until completion. When finished it will be the largest building on the UCCS campus.
