You can add another name to the crowded race for the 5th Congressional District. Congressman Doug Lamborn is facing two main challengers in the republican primary, and more than a hundred democrats gathered on Wednesday to kick-off Hal Bidlack’s campaign.
“As a western moderate I am pretty sure that my views represent the views of many people in our area,” he said.
“I think it was the ability to convince people that it's okay to have a two party system,” said Fawcett, who attended the event.
“I am confident that when the final vote is taken that the republican positions will prevail in this district, but I do look forward to a strong, debate that will be a benefit to everybody in the district,” he said.
Republican Bentley Rayburn is also running, and says he will petition onto the primary ballot. He was also in D.C. today, meeting with supporters and organizations.
“We look forward to running against him in the fall and an opportunity to let the voters see how different approach we have to the problems we face not only internationally but also locally,” he said.
