A dry March slowed the accumulation of mountain snow that provide much of Colorado's water, but snow depths still remain well above average. The Natural Resources Conservation Service says the statewide snowpack was 123 percent of average on Monday, down from 135 percent the month before.
All the state's eight major river basins are well ahead of where they were last year at this time. The NRCS says the water volume in some of the state's rivers could be as much as 160 percent of normal.
