Federal investigators will be in Grand Junction Tuesday to probe an incident in which a private jet lost its main passenger door on takeoff.
FAA spokesman Mike Fergus said the door fell off the Bombardier Challenger CL-60 shortly after takeoff from Grand Junction Regional Airport about 5:00 pm Monday.
Emergency crews stood by as the plane turned around and landed at the airport without incident. No one was hurt. It's not clear how many people were on the plane, or how high it was when the door fell.
Fergus says the plane is capable of seating about 20 passengers. The plane is registered to WFP Investments of Snowmass Village.
