A young woman who donated her pennies to help others ended up with more than she ever could have imagined.  It’s a story of paying it forward.

11-year-old Amber Roehl says she's truly learned when you give you get a lot more in return. New First featured her in a story when she donated $100 she was saving to buy a new bedroom set to a school penny drive for the homeless.

A stranger, Holly Day, was in Colorado Springs and watching 5/30. She owns an interior design company in Steamboat Springs. Holly says, "We had just gotten news that our warehouse with all our inventory had collapsed in Steamboat due to snow overload. And I just thought to myself, we're just going to give back more."

So while Amber was at school, Holly gave her the surprise of a lifetime. Holly and her husband worked for five hours. Amber had no idea that her room has been completely made over.
She came home from school, walked into her bedroom and was stunned. "What do you think of your room?” she was asked by her dad. She said, “Cool."
Holly told Amber, "I was watching the news that night. You said that you have been saving for some bedroom stuff. But you gave all you had. And I thought that was so precious. And it touched my life so much."

Amber says she was both shocked and excited. "I am happy, and just glad that she did it. And I'm just stunned by how good it looks."

The only thing Holly says she wants in return is for Amber to keep giving back. "And I want you to always keep that giving spirit, because that's what life's all about. Okay. And this is all for you."

The generosity didn't end with the makeover. Holly also has owns a travel agency and gave the family a free 8 day trip.
