A group of about twenty protestors took to the streets of Colorado Springs, Saturday, calling on Colorado Senator Ken Salazar to do more to stop illegal immigration.  The protestors were with the Minutemen Civil Defense Corps and Colorado Springs based Patriots Border Alliance.

Jeff Henry organized protest and says, "We want our laws enforced and we want our borders secured."

Senator Salazar was in town to meet with local leaders and concerned citizens regarding issues facing southern Colorado.  The meeting was at the Pikes Peak Area Council of Governments building on south Seventh Street on the city's west side.

The protestors, with signs reading; 'no amnesty' and 'where's the fence?' circled the parking lot outside.  They claim Salazar has a poor voting record when it comes to illegal immigration.

Jeff Henry says, "He has consistently resisted efforts to secure the borders and we want him to understand that's not acceptable.  He represents us, we the people and we want him to do his job."

During the meeting most of the protestors remained in the parking lot, but a handful went inside.  When Salazar began taking questions, they quickly questioned his stance on illegal immigration, to which Salazar responded, "They're a special interest advocacy group that has its own point of view and I've worked very closely with President Bush and the republicans and democrats on this issue and I'm a solution seeker."

He says, despite what the protestors say, he does not support amnesty for illegal immigrants.
