The boy's high school varsity basketball game between Canon City and Pueblo South had the perfect opening act Friday night--the National Anthem was sung by a group of special needs kids.
The kids do exhibition cheerleading at local school events. They recently did their routine before a crowd at a wrestling match at South. After them--it was time for the National Anthem to be sung. The person was a no-show. So the school asked the special needs kids to do it and three of them did with no warning and no practice. They did so well, South asked them back for the basketball game.
