Snow arrives in Southern Colorado, mountains get pounded

Snow showers will continue throughout the day for in Southern Colorado. The temperature is plunging. Snow accumulation predictions:
- 2-4"+ are possible in Northern El Paso County by midnight
- 1-2"+ in most parts of Colorado Springs
- Trace - 2" in Pueblo
Winter storms are pounding Colorado's mountains. Up to 8 inches of snow have fallen in the north-central mountains. The eastbound lanes of Vail Pass on Interstate 70 were closed Tuesday morning because of bad weather.
Colorado's western mountains are getting heavy snow. A winter storm warning is in effect for the high elevations of the eastern San Juan Mountains and the La Garita Mountains, which could get 1 to 2 feet of new snow. That includes Wolf Creek and Cumbres passes.
Up to 4 inches of snow were expected to fall in parts of the Denver metro area Tuesday.
