Local school hitches its wagon to space

Emerson-Edison Academy will stay a D-11 school with an emphasis on space and science careers.
The school board made those decisions last night and today the buzz was who would become the next principal.
Rumors of a famous female astronaut who is also an educator are circulating but there's no confirmation.
What is confirmed, a partnership between D-11 and the Space Foundation will move their headquarters to the Academy and the Space Foundation will provide resources to middle school students.
A formal agreement will take place next month.
