Call from Iraq

The Commanding General for the 4th ID Infantry Division gave an update from Iraq on Friday morning. Major General Jeffrey Hammond spoke via satellite to Commanders at Fort Carson.
His soldiers have been deployed for a year. They provide patrols and security in Iraq.
Major General Hammond spent about an hour updating their status there. He also addressed physicals. He's ordered that his soldiers receive comprehensive mental and physical exams before leaving Iraq. He says, "I didn't want our soldiers to go home, get a physical, get an identified health issue and have to wait in line for a month to see a specialist."
