College class teaches do-it-yourself fuel

As fuel prices continue to rise, a community college in Seattle is offering a course on do-it-yourself bio-fuel. At Shoreline Community College, teacher Lyle Rudensey is whipping up a batch of bio-diesel. Students pay $60 to learn how.
Student Tom Howell said, "We own a diesel truck that we bought a year ago. We were paying $2.79 when we first bought it. And now it's up to five dollars a gallon, basically."
Home-brewing may be the answer. For about $500 you can buy the equipment and you can get the waste oil for free from restaurants. It doesn't look easy -- processing, chemistry, quality control. Will they actually brew this stuff at home? Student Lance Lindlief said, "It's gonna take some initiative. But who knows? You know, it's kind of, like you gotta stay focused on it and maybe."
The workshop is growing. 32 students here today, the largest class yet.
