Professional golfer Jeff Maggert says the man killed Thursday in a plane crash near Black Hawk was his brother, Barry, of Carbondale. The Aspen Daily News reports that Maggert was flying to Boulder for the graduation of his son, Lee, from the University of Colorado.
Jeff Maggert withdrew from The Players Championship in Florida Thursday, telling tournament officials that his brother had been killed in a small plane crash in Colorado.
In addition to Barry Maggert, 55, a 23-year-old passenger was aboard the single-engine Cessna when it went down. The passenger was flown to a Denver hospital for treatment.
