Jet-setters retreating to the mountains may no longer hear a recorded message from GOP presidential candidate John McCain, welcoming them to town. McCain is on a list of notable visitors who've recorded messages for the Aspen/Pitkin County Airport. In separate recordings, the Arizona senator warns travelers about security regulations and welcomes them to "one of the most beautiful places on Earth."
Someone complained to airport officials that McCain's message may give him an unfair boost in the presidential campaign, so officials may pull him from the rotation until after the election. Officials haven't said who complained.
Actress Jill St. John and comedian David Brenner are among others who have recorded messages.
