Here's a good reason to get outside and enjoy the nice weather; the El Paso County Parks Department has recently finished a new mountain bike trail in Bear Creek Park.
The 2.5 mile trail was specially designed for mountain biking. Construction of the trail was recently wrapped thanks to some help from volunteer workers. Brian Kay, a park planner with El Paso County Parks, says the Bear Creek trail is a great place for people to train and learn the sport of mountain biking.
“Our hope was to regenerate that grass roots level support for mountain bike racing in our community and develop those younger riders and increase the interest in the sport."
To help break-in the trail, Sand Creek Sports have organized a series of mountain bike races at BearCreekPark starting this June.
