Two people suffered burns in an explosion at an oil well in Weld County. Undersheriff Margie Martinez says the blast occurred about 7:30 a.m. Wednesday at a site west of Greeley.
The injured were taken to North Colorado Medical Center. Union Colony Fire Chief Dale Lyman says the workers suffered burns, but the extent of the injuries was not immediately clear.
The names of the workers have not been released. Martinez says firefighters built a dirt mound around the burning well and covered the fire with foam.
The cause of the explosion is not yet known.
