High winds buffet Southern Colorado

Gusty winds pounded the Front Range Tuesday morning, blowing down trees, causing scattered power outages and even blowing over a semi-truck rig.
Gusts as strong as 83 m.p.h. were reported in northern Colorado Springs. In Louisville, northwest of Denver, a 104 m.p.h. gust was reported.
A High Wind Warning for Northern El Paso County and Teller County was in effect until 11 a.m. Gusts of 80 m.p.h. were common in that area.
Nearly a thousand customers were without power due to high winds according to Colorado Springs Utilities. The largest outage was on Constitution between Eagleview and Condor. That affected about 750 homes and businesses. At Morrison and 31st another 50 homes lost electricity and on North Nevada about 150 customers lost power.
