You can have a Christmas-themed, fun-filled day with the kids this Saturday--without ever spending a penny. The Pioneers Museum in Colorado Springs is hosting a Children's Holiday Magic Celebration, from 10 am -3 pm.
“For more than a decade the day has been a holiday tradition for the community,” says Joyce Vogel, long time volunteer organizer of the event. “Throughout the day we will offer music, sing-a-longs, holiday ornament making and, of course, a magic show.”
Professor Higgins’ Magic Show will start at 11 a.m. The Colorado Springs Show Choir will perform a musical revue at noon, and at 1 p.m. children from the Springs City Ballet will present scenes from the Nutcracker Suite. Tom O’Boyle will then lead a holiday sing-a-long at 1:45.
Model trains will be set up by local model railroaders Slim Rails. Weaving and spinning demonstrations will be given by the Pikes Peak Weavers Guild.
The Museum will remain open through the annual Parade of Lights, which begins at 5:50 p.m.,” Vogel says. “The holidays are filled with fond memories and new traditions. We hope everyone will join us for the free event to celebrate the start of this joyous season.”
The Colorado Springs Pioneers Museum is located downtown at 215 South Tejon Street. For more information about this free event call 385-5990.
