More Southern Coloradans are doing stay-cations this year--staying home as they cope with high energy and food costs. Here's something that will stretch your budget even more--The El Pueblo History Museum has a special exhibit through the weekend. Admission is free -- and includes free hot dogs, ice cream and lemonade, crafts for families, and savings in the museum bookstore and gift shop.
A traveling exhibit on traditions of mourning the dead is featured. Reflections: The American Funeral exhibition explores traditions of mourning the dead, beginning with Native American burial mounds and ending with the diverse rituals practiced across the country today.
The traveling exhibit is housed in a 53-foot long expandable trailer. It will be at the Museum July 25-27. Friday and Saturday hours are 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. and extended Sunday hours from noon to 4 p.m. El Pueblo History Museum is located at 301 N. Union.
