It's a coincidence that's almost as rare as hitting powerball. One Colorado Springs woman accomplished a one of a kind feat with the birth of her son on Friday morning.

James Brown Junior arrived at 6:43 a.m. at Memorial Hospital. His birth accomplishes something more rare than getting hit by lightning. His mom Jasmine Alexander says, "I thought it was a one of a kind thing, like we were the only people in the world, maybe we're not."

They are probably not the only ones, but the odds are about one in 133,000. Jasmine says, "Having him here, really today. I forgot it was my birthday, because it's all about him."

James was born on his mother's, Jasmine's, birthday. Jasmine was born on her mother's birthday. That makes three generations born on the same day. Grandmother, Beverly Alexander, says, "I asked the nurses, what are the chances of him being born at 12:01."

James is Jasmine's first baby. She says he was actually born on his due date, July 18. She expected him later. Beverly says, "I'm still slapping myself, like this is a dream. It seems unreal, it does, it does."

James was born a healthy 8 pounds, and 3 ounces. Jasmine says that is one big gift. They say it was never planned this way, and none of the births were induced. It is just one big coincidence.

Beverly, says she usually goes to Cripple Creek for her birthday, but she says this is just as good.
