The propeller fell off his airplane and oil covered his windshield -- still, Barry Cox managed to land his plane safely.
The pilot took off from Aspen-Pitkin Airport Wednesday with three people aboard his plane, including his daughter. Ten minutes into the flight to Denver, Cox heard a loud boom, oil splashed across the windshield and he lost power in his single-engine Piper. Looking through the side windows, Cox managed to glide the eight miles back to the airport.
Cox has more than 30 years of flying experience.
