Plane crash kills Colorado residents

ELLENSBURG, Wash. (AP) - The victims of a plane crash in central Washington's Cascade mountains have been identified as Colorado residents.
The Kittitas County sheriff's office said Saturday that 70-year-old Eugene Long and 68-year-old Jeanette Long, of Lafayette, Colo., died when their four-seat Lancair ES crashed about 3 p.m. Friday in a rugged, wooded area about 10 miles south of Easton.
The plane dropped out of radar and radio contact with air traffic controllers at that time for unknown reasons.
The plane was en route from Ketchikan, Alaska, to Mountain Home, Idaho.
The single-engine plane was built in 2004, according to an aircraft data base. It was built from a kit and was considered an experimental aircraft. The cause of the crash is under investigation.
