Hillary Clinton has told delegates at the Democratic National Convention that she's "a proud supporter of Barack Obama."
In an appeal for unity between her supporters and Obama's backers, she said they are all "on the same team" and that they are engaged in a fight that they must win. Clinton said no one can
afford to sit on the sidelines.
She said Democrats must prevent another White House win by Republicans. She said "no way, no how, no McCain." She called McCain a friend, but said the country "doesn't need four more
years of the last eight years." She also criticized McCain's stances on women's issues.
Clinton was greeted with a standing ovation. Many of the cheering Democrats waved white "Hillary" signs.
Clinton also praised Senator Joe Biden, Obama's choice for a running mate. She called Biden a strong leader and a good man who understands economic stresses and world challenges.
