Caroline Kennedy says her uncle, Sen. Ted Kennedy, went through a lot to get to the Democratic National Convention in Denver.
The Massachusetts senator delivered a ringing address to fellow Democrats Monday night, urging them to rally behind Barack Obama's quest for the White House. The 76-year-old Kennedy is battling brain cancer, but his niece says that he's "doing unbelievably."
He flew to Denver on Sunday night, and went to a hospital so doctors could examine him. They were worried about Kennedy being in a crowd after weeks of chemotherapy and radiation treatments that have weakened his immune system.
The senator's son, Rep. Patrick Kennedy, tells NBC's Today show that his father is "enormously resilient" and is "doing really well" with his treatment.
