A new poll shows that voters in Colorado are evenly split between Republican John McCain and Democrat Barack Obama.
The Quinnipiac University poll released Sunday showed that 47 percent of those polled favor McCain while 46 percent plan to vote for Obama.
The vote is divided by regions of the state. In the Denver-Boulder area, 56 percent said they favored Obama. In western Colorado, 54 percent of those surveyed supported McCain.
The university's polling institute surveyed 1,060 likely voters statewide by telephone from Aug. 15 to Aug. 21. The margin of error was plus or minus 3 percentage points.
