In Colorado, the definition of Driving While Ability is Impaired by Alcohol (DWAI) is a Blood Alcohol Level of .05 percent to .079 percent. Driving under the Influence of Alcohol (DUI) is a Blood Alcohol Level of .08 percent or higher.

Blood alcohol level is affected by the number of drinks you consume over a period of time, your sex and weight. Use the Colorado Department of Transportation calculator to determine when you are over the legal limit.
