The news is not good for Air Force hockey star Eric Ehn. Ehn has a broken fibula and make have ligament damage. He’s out for this week’s series at Army and right now there is no timetable for his return.
Ehn was injured early in the third period of Saturday’s 2-1 loss to ColoradoCollege at the World Arena. Ehn was breaking for the net and got tangled with the Tigers’ Bill Sweatt. Ehn went feet first into the boards.
"I feel terrible for Eric,” said Air Force hockey coach Frank Serratore. “But we all know in the game as players and coaches, it's just the way it is. Now we're going to go to practice this afternoon and Eric is going to be there with a cast on his leg and somebody else is going to be centering his line. The show must go on."
Ehn was a Hobey Baker finalist last season and a candidate one again this year.
