It’s now just about playing for pride for the Broncos. But at least Denver gets a little more of the National spotlight before they fade into the off-season.
It’s the Broncos versus the Chargers on Monday night. Mike Shanahan and Denver were eliminated from playoff contention this past weekend. We all remember what happened when San Diego played at Denver week five. It was 41-3 Chargers, the worst home loss for the Broncos in over four decades.
San Diego has already clinched the West, but the Broncos are hoping to get some revenge and hopefully finish the season with two straight wins.
“It's tough,” said Broncos quarterback Jay Cutler. “Any time you're eliminated from the postseason and you have a few games left to play, that motivation is kind of lost. But, the team has a lot pride and we want to finish the season strong and try to get theses next two.”
“It's a good challenge for us to at least finish the season on a positive note and have a chance with players that haven't played a lot to see what they can do,” said Broncos head coach Mike Shanahan.
