The Rockies on News First Now!

All season long, you've been watching the Colorado Rockies play every Sunday on News First Now, Comcast channel 9 in Colorado Springs and Comcast digital channel 247 in Pueblo.

This September, the Rockies move to Saturday nights at 6pm, starting with a special game on KOAA-TV, News First 5/30. 

Here's the Saturday night schedule:

  • Saturday, Sept 6     Houston at Colorado
  • Saturday, Sept 13   LA Dodgers at Colorado
  • Saturday, Sept 20   Arizona at Colorado
  • Saturday, Sept 27   Colorado at Arizona

All the Saturday night games start at 6pm.  The Astros game can be seen on KOAA-TV, News First 5/30.  The Dodgers and Diamondback games can be seen on News First Now.

SOUTHERN COLORADO'S NEW HOME FOR COLORADO ROCKIES BASEBALL IS "NEW FIRST NOW"

Colorado Springs, CO – The reigning National League Champions, The Colorado Rockies, have a new television home in Southern Colorado. KOAA-TV, News First 5/30, has secured the rights to 24 Rockies games in the 2008 Major League Baseball season. One game, Saturday, September 6 at Houston, will air on KOAA-TV, while the remaining 23 games will be carried on KOAA-TV’s Comcast cable channel “News First Now.”  

News First Now currently provides local news, weather, sports, and traffic information, including live newscasts at 4pm and 9pm. News First Now can be seen exclusively on Comcast channel 9 in Colorado Springs and Comcast digital channel 247 in Pueblo.

“We’re very happy to add KOAA-TV, News First 5/30, to our television family,” Greg Feasel, Rockies Senior Vice President – Business Operations, says. “What makes this partnership important to us is that it allows our Southern Colorado fans the opportunity to watch the Rockies.”
 
“Last year, we added live newscasts to News First Now. This year, Colorado Rockies baseball is a huge addition,” says David Whitaker, President and General Manager of KOAA-TV. “We’re pleased to have Comcast join News First Now as the presenting sponsor of these games.”
 
The exciting 24 game television schedule opens and closes with a pair of games against division rival Arizona, who the Rockies swept in the 2007 National League Championship Series. Other key match-ups include multiple games against division foes the LA Dodgers and San Diego Padres, plus games against the powerful Chicago Cubs and New York Mets. 
 

From the start of the season through the final playoff push, baseball fans can follow the Rockies every weekend on News First Now. The first 20 games are on Sunday afternoons; the final 4 games are on Saturday nights.
