The Air Force football season ended just over three months ago but the Falcons were back at Falcon Stadium Wednesday for the first day of spring football practice.
The Falcons are coming off a 9-4 season and their first bowl game in four years. However they return only three starters on offense, five on defense and one on special teams.
Air Force head coach Troy Calhoun said, “That means you have a bunch of spots that are completely open. But every spot we have is going to be one that is vied and pursued. So we've got a challenge in front of us."
Wednesday’s practice was the first of 15 spring sessions. Spring football concludes with a controlled scrimmage on April 12. The Falcons open the season August 30 against Southern Utah at Falcon Stadium.
