BLAINE, Minn. (AP) – Colorado Springs native R.W. Eaks was the runaway winner in the Champions Tour 3M Championship. Eaks, a graduate of Mitchell high school, posted the lowest score in the tournament's 16-year history with a 54-hole total of 23-under par after his final-round 65.
Eaks's total is four shots better than Ed Dougherty's finish in 2000. Gary Hallberg and Bernhard Langer tied for second at 17-under 199 for the tournament.
Eaks is scheduled to play in the U.S. Senior Open July 31 through August 3 at the Broadmoor.
