The college football season is less than two months away and the new kids on the RMAC block are not getting much respect.

Friday was official Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference media day in Colorado Springs. CSU-Pueblo is about to play its first season of football in 24 years.

And no surprise, in the RMAC preseason coaches’ poll, the Thunderwolves are picked dead last: tenth out of ten teams.

T-Wolves head coach John Wristen says, that’s fine with him.

“We're right where we should be,” said Wristen.  “We haven't played a game yet. We should be right where we are. We're trying to build a program and we have a long way to go before we can even go compete.”

”They're going to have a lot quicker rise to the top than most people realize,” said Mesa State head coach Joe Ramunno. “Any time you're a new program and just starting out, it takes time.”

CSU-Pueblo begins its season at home September 6th. The Thunderwolves open with Panhandle State.
